Job Summary:
Stoney Nakoda Child and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and organized Program Coordinator to
support the delivery of the Diploma of Social Work program across the Nations of Bearspaw, Chiniki, and
Goodstoney. This role is central to fostering a positive and empowering learning environment for staff
enrolled in the program, in partnership with First Nations University and the University of Regina.
The Program Coordinator will serve as a liaison between students and the university, ensuring smooth
communication, logistical support, and culturally grounded facilitation of group learning experiences.


Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
• Organize and schedule course delivery across the three Nations
• Secure appropriate venues for in-person learning sessions
• Ensure availability of technical support and equipment for hybrid or online learning
• Coordinate group learning activities and peer support sessions
• Act as the primary point of contact between students and First Nations University
• Facilitate communication regarding course requirements, schedules, and academic support
• Assist students with administrative tasks related to enrollment, attendance, and academic
progress
• Maintain accurate records of student participation and program logistics
• Prepare reports and updates for leadership and university partners
• Manage budgets related to venue rentals, supplies, and technical resources
• Support instructors and guest speakers with scheduling and logistics


Education, Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience in program coordination, preferably in an educational or Indigenous community
setting
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with First Nations educational institutions and cultural protocols
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple communities
• Knowledge of Stoney Nakoda culture, language, and traditions
• Experience working with First Nations communities
• Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practices in education
