Responsibilities

Tasks

• Compute dimensions and tolerances of machines parts
• Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
• Read and interpret engineering drawing, blueprint, charts and tables
• Repair machines tools and parts
• Set up and adjust production machineries/ tools
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to closet tolerance
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instrument
• Document and report deviations from specification and tolerances
• Maintain inspections records and complete inspection reports
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
• Set up and conventional and computer controlled machine tools
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precise measuring instruments
• operate machine tools to fabricate parts
