Overview

The Stoney Education Authority is seeking a passionate and experienced Level 3 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to lead a vibrant Four-Year-Old Program at Nakoda Elementary School. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator who values play-based learning and is committed to nurturing the growth and development of young learners in the Stoney Nakoda community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and implement a play-based, child-centered curriculum that supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsible learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families and the school community.
  • Use developmentally appropriate practices to support school readiness, including early literacy, numeracy and social skills.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families and community resources to enhance student success.
  • Monitor and documents children’s progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND REQUIEMENT:

  • Level 3 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with pre-school-aged children, preferably in a play-based learning environment.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development, traum-informed practices, and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification and a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities or willingness to learn about Stoney Nakoda Culture is an asset.
