As an avid aquatic professional, you transfer that passion into the delivery of a wide range of aquatic programs including public swimming and swim lessons that provide opportunities to further healthy lifestyles and personal well-being for residents of Banff.  Being a Swim Instructor is not required but would be considered an asset.

Core duties of the Lifeguard/Instructor are:

  • Deliver aquatic programs at the Sally Borden Pool that includes, lifeguarding public swims and swim lesson instruction.
  • Perform routine cleaning, equipment maintenance and site inspections and rectify or report any hazards or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Provide first aid and respond to emergencies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Lifeguard in accordance with established legislation, procedures and provincial guidance.
  • Maintain professional communication with facility partners and community members and ensure policies and procedures adhered to.

The hours for this position fluctuate between 5 – 10 hours per week and include evenings and weekends.

The rate of pay is $27/ hour for lifeguarding and $28/hour for instructing.

 You will need to provide an RCMP background check with vulnerable sector clearance by your first date of employment.
