Overview

Reporting to the Family Connection Centre (FCC) Supervisor, the Casual FCC Worker is responsible for supporting the FCC team with front desk customer service, administrative tasks, and drop in programs Duties include but are not limited to providing reception, information, and referrals to clients, and supporting program delivery. Work will include weekend and evening shifts. This is the ideal career opportunity for someone who is interested in making meaningful and direct impacts in the community through the use of their communication, and relationship building. You will have the opportunity to provide supports to families with children 0-18 by welcoming them into our program space, build positive and lasting relationships, and provide direct support to current programs.

You are a confident, warm, and welcoming individual who takes initiative, but can work successfully in an inclusive and cooperative team environment. You are a positive, effective communicator, who listens actively and has the ability to cultivate collaborative relationships with clients, and internal and external stakeholders. To be the best fit for this position, you have a genuine interest in working in the human services field and supporting children, youth, and families with varying needs.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Generally knowledgeable about all Town of Canmore (“Town”) programs, and specifically able to provide information on FCC and other social agency programs and services
  • Provides hands-on program support including but not limited to refilling coffee/tea as needed, facilitating child development programs during caregiver workshops, and socializing with caregivers and their children during drop-in programs.
  • Provides general administrative support as required
  • Implement and maintain community course and workshop registration systems as required

Education & Certifications:

  • Additional training or courses in human service field and child development – asset
  • Valid First Aid certification – asset
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector and criminal records checks – required

Abilities and Experience

  • Experience working directly with children, youth and/or families – asset
  • Understanding of Microsoft office programs – required
  • Knowledge of community social resources – preferred

Term & Salary: This is a casual role and the hourly wage for this role is $26 per hour.
